Hi Brian,
Loved the Irish Rover tutorial on youtube. Can’t wait for Whiskey in the Jar. I play a bit of Mandoline and Guitar and this is my favorite type of music. I am originally from the East Coast of Canada where Celtic music abounds in just about every pub. Of course we have our own flavour (re. Great Big Sea or Stan Rogers etc which I also enjoy) but I enjoy the classics most of all. Mainly do to their simplicity when it comes to cords. Please keep posting.

Hi Brian,
I’m a foreign in Ireland and I love these songs. All the 3 you’ve covered on youtube (Moly Malone, Wild Rover and Whisky in the Jar) in particular. I must say you have a gift for playing and explaining things very clearly. Thanks a lot for that and I hope they keep coming! Your bio is impressive too.
What pubs and where can we find you playing?
Best on you for putting out such quality material.

Hi Brian,
Just found your website. Thanks for the lessons. A few months ago I learned “Black Velvet Band” by The Irish Rovers and am looking for others to learn.
I read in your last comment you play in County Clare. The week of May 17, my girlfriend and I will be staying in Ennis for the week. On vacation from De Pere, Wisconsin, USA. Will you be playing anywhere near Ennis that week?
Thanks again for the tutorials,

Dear Brian
Hi, I am new to the guitar, and stumbled across your website yesterday, after a gig by Owen Gerrard in Bakewell, Derbyshire (don’t know if you’ve heard of him). I think the website’s brilliant and the videos are really helpful. I’m want to learn Whiskey in the Jar now, but the F chord is really hard for me still! But I’m sure it will get easier! I just have a question; in the Wild Rover video you mentioned using a Capo to change the key. Will this work for any song?
Thanks
Tom

Hi, I love the Wild Rover you have done and although a beginner would like to learn it. Can you let me have the chords please, I have downloaded them but they don’t match what you are playing in the you tube film. Many Thanks

Please break down the strumming, just a quick walk through of the basic pattern and switch the chord on the up stroke kind of stuff. Great videos, my right hand just dont work right
